2022 Dinghy/ Kayak Racks

All dinghy and kayak racks were fully occupied last season (no vacancies).  Those who had a space assigned for 2021 will be offered renewal for 2022, if paid by March 31st.  Anyone who decides not to return or who fails to renew by March 31, 2022 will create an opening for the 2022 season.  There is one vertical rack for kayaks and SUP use only (8 total).  The horizontal row of racks along the beach were designed for dinghy use without engines attached, but may also accommodate kayaks. They were ALL FULLY RENTED in 2021.

Any spaces that become open for 2022 will be assigned ONLY through email requests received starting on April 1, 2022.  If you wish to be considered for any space that comes open, you will need to send an email to harbormaster@dartmouthharbormaster.com and specify your name, address, contact info (phone and valid email).  You must also specify your intended dinghy/kayak (12′ total length and under) in you email request sent only AFTER the close of registration on April 1, 2022.

Again, emails are only accepted if dated 4/1/2022 or later, and they will be prioritized in the order they are received.  The seasonal rate for the 2022 season remains $50, but strict adherence to contract occupancy dates is required,

One last note:  The Waterways Dept. is in the process of developing a small boat marina (dinghy floats) to be built off the end of the Town dock at Dias landing.  A feasibility study conducted last year showed that such construction would significantly improve public access to the moorings and waterway, be self-supporting based upon user fees for storage, and would be of great demand.  Supporting that project will benefit yourself and numerous boaters similarly situated.  Please consider supporting our municipal marina project through your direct communication to the Dartmouth Select Board.

2022 Mooring Renewal

Mooring, vessel, waitlist and reserved dinghy/kayak rack registration ends on March 31, 2022.  This is the same renewal deadline specified in local regulations/by-laws since 2003.

Reminder invoices were mailed out on February 24, 2022 to each permit holder at the last known address in our database.

Renewal of each mooring, boat permit, waiting list position or reserved dinghy/kayak rack assignment remains the responsibility of each individual permit holder.

Inquiries and requests for electronic invoice reminders may be made prior to the 3/31 deadline by emailing harbormaster@dartmouthharbormaster.com

Arthur F. Dias Float Update

To protect the dock floats associated with the Town Pier and Launch Ramps at the Dias Landing located at 75 Gulf Road from winter weather and ice, all floats and gangways attached to that facility will be removed during the week of November 15, 2021.  These floats will be stored in the facility parking area until the spring of 2022.

The ramps and pier will remain open for use at the discretion and sole risk of individual mariners.

2021 Pumpout Service Ends

All Pumpout services in Dartmouth will end at noon on November 14, 2021 and all equipment will be winterized due to predicted freezing temperatures. This closure includes the on demand harbor Pumpout service as well as the shoreside pumpout equipment at the Maritime center. Winterization is necessary for the protection of waste removal equipment. We look forward to seeing you again next season.

2021 Pump Out Services

The Dartmouth Pump Out Boat has been repaired. Pump Out service will resume for the 2021 season immediately. We do have a backlog of requests made while our boat was out of service. We are working to complete all pending requests as weather allows.

The Preferred method for requesting pump out service is through email (harbormaster@dartmouthharbormaster.com). If you are requesting that our office provide you with confirmation of our service to your vessel, or other specific questions about your pump out, the only way we can provide that response is through a reply to your email request. We do not have the staff available to return phone messages.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to meet your needs with minimal staff availability.

You can request pump out service via:

2021 Waterways Permit Decals

All permit decals were mailed to the address on your invoices on May 14, 2021.  Postal service delivery times will vary based upon distance and Postal Service staffing. If you do not receive your decals by May 28,2021, please check with your postal carrier. If you have received a delinquency notice regarding boat excise taxes, your decals cannot be issued until the Collector’s Office directs us to issue those permits.

Please open your mailing carefully as the thin decals often hide once they are let out of the mailing envelopes. All mailings were checked multiple times to confirm that your decals were enclosed.
Thank you and happy boating!
